Supporting Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin

On Thursday, July 20th, Local 139 District A Manager Greg West and American Legion Post 139 Commander Mike Burt visited Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin in Racine, Wisconsin, an organization dedication to help hungry, homeless and at-risk veterans in the Racine area.  IUOE Local 139 and American Legion Post 139 each presented VOW’s Executive Director Jeff Gustin checks in the amount of $600.  These donations, along with matching donations from other organizations, will help provide essential food items for the small, but extremely necessary food pantry at VOW.

Local 139 started in a volunteer capacity earlier this year working with Oaks & Son to place tiny homes onto piers for their James A. Peterson Veterans Village. We continue to support their goal to give veterans the tools needed to break the cycle of homelessness through mental health counseling, AODA counseling, work search, veterans benefit search, financial advice and housing placement.
