Local 139er in Puerto Rico for Disaster Relief

Recently Local 139 member Leroy Miller took his skills to Puerto Rico running 9 construction teams involved in the Army Corps of Engineers’ “Operation Blue Roof” project. The program has added tens of thousands of temporary rooftop weather barriers to dwellings across the area following the devastation when hurricane Maria hit the in mid September, 2017.

We’re very proud of Leroy’s work helping the families of Puerto Rico put their lives back together. He’s a kind soul and a very skilled operator with an impressive military background, a strong voice for the construction trades, unions and veterans and Vice Commander at American Legion Post 139. It’s inspiring to see a young operator make such an impact here and abroad.
