Special Notice on Enbridge Line 5 Support

Good afternoon Wisconsin Jobs & Energy Coalition Members –

Wisconsinites have an opportunity to voice support for Line 5 and the Line 5 relocation project!

We need your help to make sure our voices are heard!

The Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) are hosting the annual Spring Hearings virtually next week from April 12-15.

Members of the public have the opportunity to provide input on the natural resources proposed rule changes from the WDNR and advisory questions from the Natural Resources Board and the WCC. The online voting opens Monday, April 12 at 7 pm and will remain open for 72 hours.

Included in this year’s Advisory Questions are two questions regarding Line 5:

  • Support WCC opposition to construction of a new 42-mile segment of the Enbridge Line 5 crude oil pipeline in Ashland and Iron Counties to replace the existing portion of the Line 5 pipeline that bisects the Reservation of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa; and Support WCC opposition to issuance of any permits for the Line 5 project by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at the conclusion of its EIS process
We are asking all of our members to log in to the Spring Hearings and vote “NO” on these two questions. We are also asking membership to contact their employees, friends, and neighbors and ask them to sign in and vote “NO” on these two questions as well.We all know that this project will be an economic boon to Wisconsin, and that it can be done safely and securely. Now is the time to stand up and voice that opinion to Wisconsin’s decision makers.

» VOTE HERE – APRIL 12-15

*Select question type: Wisconsin Conservation Congress (Questions 31-57)
Answer “NO” to Enbridge Line 5 questions 38 & 39. You can choose “No opinion” for all other questions.

By voting “NO,” Wisconsin residents have a chance to demonstrate that we can have reliable, safe energy and a healthy environment.
If you, your employees, friends, and neighbors are Wisconsin residents and are willing to participate, please go to https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/about/wcc this Monday after 7 pm and vote to ensure our shared, positive message gets heard. Voting is open for 72 hours.

Sincerely,

Wisconsin Jobs & Energy
