Officers
Local 139 of the International Union of Operating Engineers is a statewide labor organization with approximately 9,100 members living throughout Wisconsin. The members are governed by a constitution and bylaws that spell out how the union is to be run. Day-to-day responsibilities of running the union are given to the business manager. An executive committee meets regularly and has the power to review and make all decisions. Every three years, elections are held and all officers and executive committee members stand for election. Local 139 has one of the highest rates of participation in its union elections of any labor organization in the country.
